Every Somerset town is in planning or construction for fiber or cable upgrade.

Somerset Economic Development has worked tirelessly for nearly a decade to connect communities and businesses along the Rt. 201 corridor to world-class internet service, but the expensive “middle mile” costs have deterred most Internet Service Providers. We have facilitated planning and potential partnerships with the Maine Connectivity Authority (MCA) and regional service providers in preparation for the opportunity presented by MOOSE Net, and we are thrilled to celebrate the announcement of the $30M Moose Net federal grant.
